I was reading Skippy's List while procrastinating all the writing I had to do.
I thought, Gee. Wouldn't it be funny if some ofthe people in my head my original characters actually started doing these things?
Yeah.
Enter: Skippy's List: 213 You Are No Longer Allowed To Do In The Army. The rules are simple. Go through the list. Pick a character from your favorite fandom. Write stories based on what this person can no longer do, why this person can no longer do it, and preferably in the army. Not necessarily the US army. Why the army? Because it's funny, and Skippy was in the army.
Because there are 213 things on this list, you are not required to do all of them. Or even most of them. That's a hell of a lot of fanfiction. The minimum requirement for an entry on Skippy's List (Fanfiction Version) is 250 words. The minimum number of entries you have to do is 10. Once this community ages a little there will bemerit badges rank insignia for completing 10, 15, 25, 50, 100 Skippy Things. Yes, these are fairly arbitrary numbers.
Once you have completed your fanfic, post it! Warn your readers, please, if it contains graphic content or content that you think will be disturbing to some readers. I'll work out a system of tags and organization later. At the bottom of your post please put your character and fandom, so people have some idea of what you're talking about. Put all entries longer than, say, 500 words or so behind a cut.
Off-topic posts will be laughed at and then summarily deleted. Questions can be directed to the community mod, yours truly. Both fan-fiction and original fiction is welcome. Group efforts are permissable as long as they have an overarching theme: 213 Things Millifolk are no longer allowed to do, the Angel crew, the Slayer Students, etc. RPF is, in a radical and delusionary twist, permissable only if it is RPF about YOU. Fictionalize your life up if you want and if you have this thing about privacy. I know I do, and I bet a lot of you do too. But hey, wouldn't it be funny to imagine yourself doing some of the crap on this list?
